The City of St Albans is served by two railway stations. St Albans City Station is situated in Victoria Street and services are run by First Capital Connect. The service connects Bedford in the north, directly through London, to Brighton in the south. Gatwick Airport and Luton Airport are also served on the same line.
From December 2008, major engineering works will affect some services. St Albans Abbey Station is situated at the bottom of Holywell Hill and services are provided by London Midland.
