Berkshire, a county of south east England is located to the west of London, known as the Royal County of Berkshire since at least the 19th century because of the presence of Windsor Castle.

Slough is also home to the UK's biggest Business Park. The European head offices of major IT companies such as BlackBerry, Network Associates, Computer Associates, PictureTel and Compusys are all in the town. O2 is headquartered here across four buildings. The Slough Trading Estate attracts many world-wide organisations due to its proximity to London Heathrow Airport.
